Help our cause by contributing to our fundraising efforts.

No act of generosity is too small to make a difference.

The Bridge, founded in 1954, is a leading New York City-based nonprofit organization offering comprehensive mental health treatment, rehabilitation programs and supportive housing to 4,000+ individuals annually. Our mission is to change lives by providing help, hope, and opportunity to the most vulnerable New Yorkers.

Bridge clients are seriously mentally ill, formerly incarcerated or homeless, frail or disabled seniors, veterans with disabilities and young adults aging out of foster care or residential treatment programs. Our clients have serious and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression and often suffer from social isolation. Many of our clients also have medical and substance use disorders. Almost half of our residential clients are over age 55 and are at increased risk for institutionalization, hospitalization and placement in higher levels of care.

The Bridge provides a wide range of vital programs to the chronically mentally ill in the following three key areas: Supportive Housing, Outpatient Behavioral Health Care and Community Support. Embracing the idea that trauma impacts everyone, we support clients as they build their own path towards healing, growth, and stability.
